Embedding Art Into the Every Day
Since it's opening in early 2016, Hojas Artspace has sought to "embed art into the every day". By that we mean, to make art more accessible by taking it to places where art doesn't normally happen. What better place to do that than in a rural Oklahoma church? We knew we had our work cut out for us. Several times a year we host solo exhibitions for artists we hand-pick as a good fit for our space. We look for artists from all mediums and backgrounds that exhibit the right kind of "moxy", who can be challenging and accessible at the same time. It is always a happy surprise to see exactly what happens next and how the community responds to it.
Hojas Artspace resides in and is a part of True Vine Church. Not only are we housed in the same facility, but we are integrated into True Vine Church's vision to be a positive force in our area by engaging in a dialogue of creativity and community through art. We believe that art is one of the most basic and powerful forms of communication. The more we understand about it, the more we understand about ourselves and each other. Hojas is proud to be part of this process of understanding and loving one another.
We love our artists that have shared themselves and their creative spirits with us. The exhibitions are just the beginning of wonderful friendship. Each of these artists have brought something special to Hojas and forever are considered part of the greater Hojas family.
